St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

Music
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Holy Hour for the Dignity of Life

In solidarity and unity with the Bishops of England of Wales who are gathering for a Holy Hour to pray for the promotion of the dignity of the human person and the culture of life in England and Wales on Wednesday 13 November, there will be a Holy Hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament in the Cathedral, from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on the same day. All are welcome to attend.
