St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir.

By a decree of 28 October, the Apostolic Penitentiary in Rome has extended to the entire month of November the possibility of obtaining plenary indulgences for the Holy Souls in Purgatory through the performance of specific indulgenced works. Read more

St George’s Children’s Liturgy

Our Children's Liturgy is for all children aged between 4 and 9 years. The aim of the group is to provide the children with an adapted Liturgy of the Word during the 10am Mass on Sundays. Read more
