St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

Music
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Funeral Mass for Canon Richard Hearn

Archbishop John Wilson will celebrate the Requiem Mass of the late Canon Richard Hearn in The Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, Southwark of Friday 12th November 2021 at 12.30pm.

All are welcome to join in praying for the repose of his soul; may he rest in peace and rise in glory.
