St John Paul II Visit Anniversary - 28 May 2022
On 28 May 1982 Pope John Paul II visited St George’s Cathedral for a special service of Anointing of the Sick (as commemorated in the Cathedral’s stained glass). The Cathedral will host an exhibition in the St Joseph’s Chapel area from 16-30 May to mark the fortieth anniversary of this visit, and at 12.30pm on 28 May Archbishop John Wilson will celebrate an anniversary Mass, with the anointing of a selection of sick parishioners from around the Archdiocese of Southwark.
