The Solemnity of the Dedication of St George’s commemorates the original consecration of the Cathedral in 1894, and is an opportunity for us to gather as a parish community and give thanks to God for this house of prayer.
Our celebration of the Solemnity of the Dedication of the Cathedral is this year transferred from 7 to 8 November, but begins with Solemn First Vespers at 6pm on Monday 7 November. In addition to the usual weekday Masses, there will be an additional Solemn Mass at 6pm on Tuesday 8 November, celebrated by the Provost of the Cathedral’s Chapter of Canons – and our former Dean – Mgr Canon Jim Cronin.
