National Rosary Relay Rally across England, Wales and Scotland - Pentecost Sunday, 31st May 2020 - 9am to 9pm.
Pope Francis is urging all Catholics to pray the Rosary in their homes during the month of May, especially when the pandemic is making us aware of the value of our family and home life and making it possible for us to pray together in lockdown at home.
The National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham have responded to the Holy Father’s call by inviting us to join a national ‘relay rally’, where every diocese is given a one-hour slot in which the Faithful of that diocese are asked to pray the Rosary at home. Between 9am and 9pm the Faithful of every diocese will have offered their rosaries and the combined prayers offered to Heaven as a gift of faith, hope and trust in God, beseeching healing for our nation.
At 9pm the Rosary Rally will end with a Rosary being led by Bishop John Keenan from St. Mirin’s Cathedral in Paisley. You can join this final Rosary and Blessing at 9pm by joining Bishop Keenan on his Facebook page; search for Bishop John Keenan.
The hour appointed for our own Archdiocese of Southwark is 3pm to 4pm. Please do join in prayer and offer your Rosary for the following intentions:
- For faith, sanctity of life and peace to prevail in our nations
- For an end to the Covid-19 virus, the sickness it causes and its effects that prevent us living life in abundance (Jn 10:10)
- For the protection of the common good and people’s economic livelihood
- That the Holy Spirit will preserve us from disaster and war
Our Lady of the Rosary pray for us and intercede mightily with your Divine Son Jesus.
Our Lady help of Christians come to our aid!
St George pray for us.
