By a decree of 28 October, the Apostolic Penitentiary in Rome has extended to the entire month of November the possibility of obtaining plenary indulgences for the Holy Souls in Purgatory through the performance of specific indulgenced works.
These being:
1) a visit to a cemetery during which prayer is offered mentally for the faithful departed; and/or
2) a visit to a church or oratory during which one Our Father and one Creed are recited.
Usual conditions apply, these being that the person obtaining the indulgence for the faithful departed be in a state of grace and detached completely from sin, and have at least once gone to confession, received communion, and prayed for the Pope (not necessarily all on the same day) in the 20 days before or after the indulgenced work.
