Season of Lent & the Stations of the Cross
Lent: a season of penance
In 1985 the Bishops of England and Wales reminded Catholics that “all of Christ’s faithful are obliged to do penance. The obligation arises in imitation of Christ himself and in response to his call. During his life on earth, Our Lord undertook voluntary penance. He invited his followers to do the same.” In Lent we are invited to intensify our penances, that we may be united to the sufferings of Christ, and so grow in love of God and neighbour.
Station of the Cross
Beginning on Sunday 26 February, there will be Stations of the Cross on the Sundays of Lent at 5.15 pm.
