St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, formally the Metropolitan Cathedral Church of St George, is the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Southwark, which covers the London boroughs south of the Thames, the county of Kent and the Medway Unitary Authority.

Music
St George's Cathedral has a well-established musical tradition, with a diversity of styles represented at the different Masses, ranging from congregational hymns and Mass settings at the 10am Family Mass sung by the Cathedral Consort youth choir, through plainsong and polyphony at the 12pm Solemn Mass sung by the Cathedral Choir of choristers and lay clerks. There is also a Junior Choir for younger children and the Cathedral runs the Southwark Singing Programme.

Join the Choir - become a Cathedral Chorister

St George’s is always looking for young singers aged between 7 and 18 to join the Cathedral Choir and Cathedral Consort (youth choir).

No previous training is required, we are looking for a love of singing, a positive attitude and musical potential. If your son or daughter would like to come for an audition, please register online by visting out sign up page by clicking below:
