Advance Notice – St George’s Day

Because 23 April falls during Easter week, the feast of St George has been transferred to Tuesday 30 April. There will be Mass at 6.30pm followed by a reception in the Amigo Hall.

Eucharistic Adoration - update

Friday Adoration next takes place on Friday 3 May from 8am until 6pm and on Saturday 4 May om 10am until 12.15pm.

Pilgrimage to Lindisfarne

Pilgrimage to  Lindisfarne for young Adults (20s and 30s) from Wednesday 24 April to Sunday 28 April 2019.  A time to walk along part of St. Cuthbert’s way, reflect and pray with other young adults and spend time on the beautiful island of Lindisfarne. Accommodation is in a basic bunkhouse near St Cuthbert's cave.

Chorister Recruitment Day 2019

St George’s is recruiting young singers aged between 7 and 13 to join the Cathedral Choir from September, during the annual Chorister Recruitment Day.  This takes place on Saturday 4 May at 10am and the day will end at 4pm, after a final performance of all those taking part.

Ecumenical Pilgrimage to the Holy Land

On 3-10 March 2020 Southwark Cathedral and St George's Cathedral will make a joint pilgrimage to the Holy Land. It will be led by Bishop Paul Hendricks and the Anglican Bishop of Southwark, Bishop Christopher Chessun, together with the Dean of Southwark, Very Rev. Andrew Nunn, and Canon Richard. The pilgrimage will visit Jerusalem, Bethlehem & Galilee.

SLU Catholic Chaplaincy

Defibrillator

The cathedral has a defibrillator which is kept at the sacristy office. It is important that in the case of someone needing assistance everyone is aware that there is one located in the building

‘Prayer & Pub’ Evening

SVP Food Bank Collection

Our St Vincent de Paul Society is continuing to work with the Waterloo Foodbank to collect food for local people in crisis. Collection baskets are at the back of the Cathedral. Please see the posters at the back of the Cathedral for more details.

Cathedral Choir Christmas CD

Becoming a Catholic

If you would like to know more about the Catholic Church with a view to becoming a Catholic, a programme of instruction is running on a Sunday morning at 10am in Amigo Hall.  You have been thinking about this for some time, or are already a Catholic but for whatever reason were never confirmed.  Perhaps a friend or family member may like to be invited to join the programme.

Young Adults Group

St Vincent De Paul Group

We have a small but enthusiastic group of parishioners who work together to help those in need - the lonely and isolated or those who don't have enough food to eat or even a home to live in.  You could help this vital work by joining the parish SVP group and giving a little of your time to helping others.  Call 07716 533621 to find out more.

St George’s Cathedral Choirs CD

The CD recording produced by our Cathedral Choirs is now available. Entitled: “O Sacrum Convivium - Music for the Mass”, it features our Girls’ Choir, Boys’ Choir, Choral Scholars and Lay Clerks.  It costs £12 per CD.  The CDs are available to buy in the repository after the 10am and 11.30am Masses, where payment is accepted by cash and cheque.  The CDs can also be ordered online using a credit or debit card by clicking here:
