Works at Cathedral this Autumn
Posted: 13 Oct
It will not have escaped attention that a lot of scaffolding is being erected. The earlier investigations showed that plaster has been falling out where the roof construction after the War has some unintended gaps.  Additionally, it was found that the stone ribs are able to move which should not be the case.  Work to rectify these problems will start soon and we are grateful to the Archbishop and the diocesan trustees who are funding the work as the parish could not have afforded to do it. The work will hopefully be completed before Christmas. There may be some noise & disruption during the work.
