The Cathedral Consort was formed in 2019, and is a select group of teenagers aged 13 and upwards, who lead worship at the 10am Family Mass through congregational mass settings and SATB motets.
Through their membership of the Cathedral Consort, singers receive training in vocal technique, musicianship and, in some cases, conducting and organ-playing. Choristers from the Cathedral Choir are invited to join the Cathedral Consort when they reach the age of 13, and cambiata voices are coached through their voice change individually.
Any young person aged 13 to 18 who lives within commuting distance of the Cathedral may join the choir, through a simple audition. These can be arranged throughout the year in consultation with the Director of Music. If your son or daughter has a passion for singing then we would love to hear from you.
